Continue in Him.

And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming. - I John 2:28

For the past week or more I have been slowly reading small portions of the bible and finding one thought to focus on. Kind of a Lectio Divina type of thing, but Dave Reiss-afied. When one idea sticks with me I try to pray though it. I also write that one idea on my hand. I try to reflect on that thought through-out, looking at my hand to remind me. It helps me, though I need to use a better pen. It's pretty much gone after a few hand washings.

This morning the I was only able to get though 1 verse (above). It reminded me to continue in Him (Jesus Christ). I know that life offers many road. It's not just two roads that diverged in the woods, but continual divergence. So when we come to the crossroads every few inches of our life, we need to continue in Him. Choose the path of Jesus, not whatever choices the world throws at us. I know I way to often choose other paths way to often.

The cool thing about as we continue in Him is that it makes us confident and unashamed. Two things I know I can always use.

Next time you see me, ask me what's on my hand.

I'm finally finished!

Tonight is a magical night. I completed two major things.

First we wrapped up the final season of Alias (on loan from our local BlockBuster). It was good to finally finish this series. We have been working on it for the past month. Now we will have to find a new show to get sucked into.

Still Alias is not my big accomplishment. I have been working on Harry Potter 7 for aver a month. I have had to read it is small chunks here and there, due to settling into our lives in Huntsville. I really enjoyed it, especially the last half of the book. No I don't have to be worried about people spoiling it for me.

Thank you JK for these great stories and great characters to care about.

40 years of stupid cows

You would think after 40 years these cows would learn how to spell!

What is Mystereiss?

I have seemed to adopt this as a common name I use on the Internet, so I thought I would explain it to those who don't understand.

It all started when I was a teacher in Hungary. I needed to start an e-mail account, and I came to realize that Mr. Reiss and mysteries and mysterious are very similar sounding and looking. So with a simple melding they became mystereiss. You see I am all three rolled into one.

t's quite simple, and exciting. Someday I want to create my own website www.mystereiss.com. But it does not exist so don't try it, and don't steal it.
